چکیده

Aim . To study the possible synergistic action of steroid hormones and hormone-specific autoantibodies anti-autoantibodies in conversion ER+/PR+ tumors into ER-/PR- breast cancer patients. Materials Methods Concentrations estradiol (E2) progesterone (Pg) levels idiotypic IgA antibodies (IgA 1 -E2 -Pg) as well anti-idiotypic IgG (IgG 2 were studied serum 979 patients (432 with stage 547 stages 2-4) by means enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. E2 Pg receptors phenotype (ER/ PR) was determined using immunohistochemistry. Results Simultaneous increase associated elevated concentration (p = 0.007) On contrary, concurrent -Pg и -Pg, lowered 0.04). The frequency low high 2-4 than following cases: 1) regardless 0.004); 2) 0.002); 3) (р < 0,001); 4) E2, Pg, 0,001). In other combinations anti-antibodies, there have been no differences between ascending cancer. Conclusion We for first time found a on patients, tumor receptor conversion.

The role of steroid hormones in breast cancer stem cells.

Breast cancer stem cells (BCSCs) are potent tumor-initiating cells in breast cancer, the most common cancer among women. BCSCs have been suggested to play a key role in tumor initiation which can lead to disease progression and formation of metastases. Moreover, BCSCs are thought to be the unit of selection for therapy-resistant clones since they survive conventional treatments, such as chemoth...

Differential action of glycoprotein hormones: significance in cancer progression.

Growth of multicellular organisms depends on maintenance of proper balance between proliferation and differentiation. Any disturbance in this balance in animal cells can lead to cancer. Experimental evidence is provided to conclude with special reference to the action of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) on Sertoli cells, and luteinizing hormone (LH) on Leydig cells that these hormones exert a...
